General information about selling your property

The most important things to keep in mind about selling your home in Mexico are the taxation and fees involved. The Notario Público (Notary Public) is responsible for calculating capital gains and transfer taxes, and will charge his own separate fees. However, if you list your property and meet the requirements of having the escritura (deed) correctly prepared, an FM3 or passport in the same name as that on the deed, a copy of the electricity and telephone bills, and proof of current paid property taxes (predial), you may be exempt from capital gains tax.Royalty Real Estate will assure that you have copies of all of these documents to present to the Notario.
